唔明北角皇后點解啲食評咁差

(原文小弟係用中文寫嘅, 因我凈係識廣東抨音, 鬥jor成粒鐘先完成, 點知上載時啪錯制成篇冇晒, 唯有再用西文寫多次)

It has always puzzled me why the rating of Queen's Cafe at North Point is so bad on Opxnrice.com.

It's become one of my latest favorites in the area.

The environment is very British Colonial with black and white pictures of old Hong Kong filling the walls, ceiling fans, wooden panels and furniture, antique lamps, and even a British Phone booth as the focus of the restaurant. Service was attentive, swift and un-intruding, menu comprehensive enough to satisfy everyone in the family, and of course, the food. I would deem it to be one of the top Hong Kong style western restaurants "港式西餐".

Take for example just the depth of the smells of their baked pork chop rice, as soon as it's set in front of you, you'll notice a strong sweet caramelized flavour of their tomato sauce with a hint of burnt, along with the tangy rich odours of melted cheese, then comes goodness of hot grease the crispy deep fried pork chop where you can be sure you smell crispiness in the air; and finally, that special heart warming scent you get when beaten egg and rice meets a very hot wok. Who can still provide you with all these aromas in one dish these days, not many.

So comes my conclusion. Across the street and behind back there sit many Cha Chaan Tengs who sell the same item at $3x, and knowing most North Point residents have very bland insensitive taste buds, of course they would think themselves to be silly to be paying almost triple at Queen's Cafe.

結論,北角多年來都係多數做街坊生意又冇堅持嘅茶餐廳, 久而久之啲街坊嘅要求亦跌, 皇后收成百蚊嘅碟頭飯, 隔嚟茶記廿幾三十已搞掂, 而當一個人因自己味覺同要求問題而食唔出有乜分別時, 叫佢去比三倍價錢食番同樣嘅嘢佢實話搵老襯, 喪吊同比'喊面'啦!

Better than your usual "Garden" Puff/muffin 熱辣辣, 好過嘉頓嘅

Nice and Quiet環境幾幽靜, 好啱傾吓計, 捉吓手仔

This is done almost right, you can taste the cream, versus in normal Hong Kong style western restaurants, you taste flour
呢個確係忌廉湯而唔係純麫粉湯

A very rich borstch羅宋湯來得夠濃烈

好鬼殖民地feel嘅餐廳, 90後應該冇乜共鳴:lol

Stuffed baked crab shells Very generous amounts of cream crab with onions with melted cheese
局蟹蓋, 估唔到有兩隻, 好飽滿, 忌廉蟹肉同洋葱炒香炒好再鋪芝士局到金香, 那會唔好食. 佢哋落蟹肉絕不手軟

請注意, 這裡嘅配菜並不是小棠菜:lol:lol

Beef stroganoff. Very rich cream based sauce, although I would prefer them adding some brandy to the sauce and even creamier. Less tomato purree too.

Nevertheless this is still my favourite dish at this place.
俄牛飯係我嘅飛佛, 呢度應為迎合港人口味, 牛油忌廉落得輕手了, 拔蘭地也無落, 換上茄膏, 冇咁膩嘅感覺, 味道倒還香濃, 挺好食嘅. 但我當然仍然最懷念30年前喺木球會吃那淡啡忌廉色, 勁香牛油勁酥吃完勁膩嘅俄羅斯牛肉飯啦.

I mean where the heck can you find beef stroganoff these days?
但今時今日碩果僅存做得咁嘅味道, 我已十分滿足一路食啲汁同白飯撈埋一齊, 一路啲幸福喺個口度滲出嚟. 致於啲牛肉, 係穌打過, 但仍有牛味, 中國人做法, 走油, 有些許過火, 但係已唔重要



係包埋餐飲嘅, 不過冇影

Reasonably priced when factoring in every attribute
咁嘅價錢, 抵啦!







茄汁雞絲意粉點解唔係炒埋一蝶嘅?
