鰂魚涌不錯嘅蠔吧 nice little oyster bar at Quarry Bay, codfather

A very nice little oyster bar with al fresco area. Oysters were nice and fresh and pasta was done the "right" way, not cha chaan teng style. Good lunch deals and oyster sets
Location: Hoi Wan Street, Quarry Bay

Al fresco dining

Small shop with around 14 seats inside, good place to book private parties

The gweilo behind the bar is one of the owners, friendly chap.

Very inexpensive lunch sets

some good oyster deals here

Their oyste rman John is the one from Johnny Boyz at Wanchai

Some knowledge about oysters

So i ordered the seafood pasta, nice tomato sauce base

sauce was rich and tangy, ingredients were quite fresh

definitely not your cha chaan teng stuff

to simply put it, very "Italian"

need to save some space to try their oysters so i had my remaining doggy bagged

Not too many choice of oysters but sufficient

So I tried 3 pcs of french oysters

from left to right, Fleur des eaux, Ancelin speciale, Mont St. Michel.
All three are bit salty sea flavoured, the first one creamier and the last one comes with a sweet finish.

This place cuts the muscle and turns the oysters for you, a lot of places are too lazy to do that.

And the oysters are not flushed with water so you drink all the natural juices, hence I didn't need any vinegar or cocktail sauce

Friendly chinese chef

Perfect afternoon for whiskey soda!
